Lovebirds Post: Blake and Ryan Edition

Blake Lively fascinates me. I once met her on the streets of New York and she was so sweet I've been a fan ever since. She has an amazing media persona from her films and Gossip Girl work, to her fashionista lifestyle, to her home life made public in her love of baking and cooking, and especially her love life.  Like many of her characters, Blake has had some slip ups... supposedly. Her reps say the nude photos that leaked in May and allegedly look exactly like Blake were fake.  All of that aside, the public, myself included love to watch her act and pay attention to her love life because none of it is bad enough to look away.

In keeping with that, here's the latest Lively update:

Burlesque and Inappropriate Part 2

In terribly exciting news, Christina Aguilera, the Voice coach, riffer extraordinaire, mother of Max, girlfriend of Matt Rutler, ex-wife of Jordan Bratman, and most importantly leggings lover will be releasing a new single in the coming weeks with an album to come out just when the Voice gets into full swing... Color me surprised. Xtina's going back... but she's skipping the Gaga repeat days and Burlesque and even the Car Wash days to get right back to "Dirty."  The single will be called either "Your Body," "Love Your Body," or possibly "F*** Your Body." I guess she's going to go for a "Moves Like Jagger" repeat with this one but we could hear it as early as next week! You'll find it here as soon as I get it... even with a review... Especially if it's bad.

But it'll never be bad enough.

Surprise of the Year: Katy and Russell

In a completely un-shocking move today, Russell Brand filed for divorce from Katy Perry citing---- wait for it------ irreconcilable differences. In a more shocking twist, the papers state that there are "community property assets" implying there may not be a prenup. The couple spent Christmas apart, she in Hawaii, he in the UK, both without their rings, and apparently Russell blindsided Katy because she's too hung up on hard partying. All speculation, but for Katy it's definitely "Not Like The Movies." Russell said on Ellen earlier this month that he said "til death" and meant it, but nothing is constant or true apparently.

UPDATE:
Sources that morning say that Katy asked Russell to be the one to file as her parents are Evangelical Christians who don't believe in divorce... Take that with a grain of salt, but it is interesting.

 The good news: single girls seem to make better music! Katy's first two albums were recorded and released while she was unmarried.

Hollywood Heartbreak?

There have been a ton of breakups and shakeups in Hollywood recently so here's my rundown. First I thought I'd start with the obligatory note to celebrities: KEEP GETTING MARRIED EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT READY! If you don't know your fiancé well enough to stay together for 14 months, 72 days, 14 days, or 52 hours, you probably shouldn't even put a ring on it, but if you do it gives me some nice writing material. Just saying. If celebs stopped this garbage, maybe it wouldn't be so easily forgiven in the mainstream world, but maybe they don't have that much of an effect. Sometimes divorce is necessary, but sometimes marriage isn't. That's just me though.

Etta James Breathing Again

Etta James, the 73 year old At Last singer who has made hearts melt and weddings slow dance for years, was taken off her respirator and is breathing on her own again! Earlier this month, EW confirmed that Etta has terminal illnesses that are making her life difficult, but this show of strength is good news and she may be able to leave intensive care soon.

According to Lupe De Leon, her manager of 30 years:

“Etta has a terminal illness. She’s in the final stages of leukemia. She has also been diagnosed with dementia and Hepatitis C. She’s in a home right now and mostly sleeps. She is under the care of a live-in doctor from Riverside Community Hospital and two others who have placed her on oxygen. Her husband is with her 24 hours a day, and her sons visit regularly. We’re all very sad. We’re just waiting.”

 I hope she can stay comfortable and see all of those she loves as soon as possible while she's healthy!

News Galore

Call me spoiled rotten, but I take a little break from blogging to sleep in, drink coffee, eat too much, and overall have a life, and I have a glut of stories to cover.  Everything from the Kelly Clarkson and Ron Paul, to broken marriages, to babies born... I've got it all coming up in the next couple days starting just as soon as I can write it! Get ready for some fireworks.

Britney Wonderland

It's been a great week for Britney Spears and you're about to find out why! While we've all been blaring Femme Fatale and My Only Wish as loud as the speakers can handle, Queen B has been doing all kinds of fun stuff.

Adele Update

Adele was spotted out for the first time since her surgery looking great and happy. She has been tweeting quite a bit too! She's been writing instead of talking and following all of the doctor's orders! I hope she gets better fast and if it's not too selfish, I hope she uses her throat issues to write great music!

While Adele has been recovering from her throat surgery, Entertainment Weekly named her one of their entertainers of the year. Check out the mag for a little Adele Tribute writeup by Julia Roberts who got her copy of 21 from her hairdresser. Whispering in her ear much? Sorry I had to.

The Daily Mail also says they got their hands on her tour rider. Take it with a grain of salt because you never know what's true in tabs, but here it is!

 

She likes water, milk, only European beer, orange juice not from concentrate, cereal, cigarettes, sandwiches, fruit, and squeezy bottles of honey. Oh my gosh. The nerve of someone who sings for a living to like.... orange juice not from concentrate. And I can't believe she likes squeezy honey. Ok all kidding aside (I can't believe I said that). I hope she stops (or has stopped) smoking. I like my pop stars healthy and happy, not just one or the other.

Glee Casting Update: Santana's Family

 In breaking Glee casting news, EW has confirmed that there are pending talks with both Gloria Estefan and Pitbull to appear in upcoming episodes as.... wait for it... Santana's mother and brother respectively. As always, Glee has so much potential.  This could prove to be some great character development in an interesting storyline of Santana's struggle with her race and class in the town as well as her sexuality and position in the school, or it could be gratuitous inclusion of big names... It could be awesome, like the first season, or it could be like any second season episode (except the Britney one)-- namely awful.  This season is on an upward trend if you ask me, but the moment they break from the character development and start pandering for viewers with stargazing fetishes, the show will go right back down the tubes.  Well, that's just my opinion.

Kardashian Update: It's a Big One

I'm going to warn you up front: This Kardashian update is a big one. Kourtney is normal, Khloé's life is changing a lot, and Kim is stating the obvious... and what's in the future? More spin offs of course!

Break Up and Shake Up Update

Ready for the break ups and shake ups in Tinseltown? Ashton and Demi, Ashlee and Pete, Terrance and Michelle... It's getting awkward and ugly.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were spotted running into each other in the most awkward moment of the day. Us Weekly has "sources" who say they saw the pair run into each other at a "private member's club."  That reeks of BS, but whatever. Separated people living and traveling in small circles are bound to cross paths... and it shouldn't be normal. Was it ever really normal? There 16 years apart and he is closer to her kids' ages. Not normal. They're celebrities. Not normal. He stars in lots of questionably bad media. Not normal.

Terrance Howard's wife, Michelle Ghent, secured a restraining order as their divorce heats up. He can't go within 100 feet of her until the issues are dealt with at their January 17th hearing.  He filed counter suit against her insinuating extortion when he said she would go public with "private materials." This is getting messier even when it began with accusations of spousal abuse.  What a mess.  It's sad that this has to happen and I only hope that it gets resolved reasonably and safely.

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson finalized their divorce today. After one son and 3.5 years, the marriage ended and it seems to be going okay for them.  Not too much bad press and lots of potentially staged photo ops. As far as we know, it's all working out.

Baldwin Bashing from All Sides: Updates

 So the backlash begins, though his track record for bouncing back is good, so he won't even feel the repercussions. All in one day, American Airlines released a statement about yesterday's incident, Alec Baldwin said goodbye to his twitter, and president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants made a statement as well.

Gaga Talked to MTV? Shocker

In a complete departure, Lady Gaga is making headlines this week. Hold on while I peel myself off the floor from fainting.  She is already hard at work on her new album and she's got a bit to say on her Grammy noms too! She talks to MTV about it all.

Jersey Shore Update

In "Exactly Where She Belongs" news, Jenni JWOWW Farley finds herself on the cover of January's Maxim. She made the announcement on her blog today and will show us lots of things we've never seen on the show like her in a bathing suit, her on a ride at the boardwalk, her eating candy, and while they're been concealed constantly, we finally see her showing off her boobs. Yay.

Other Jersey Shore news, the trailer for wait for it....... Season 5 of the AWARD winning show, Jersey Shore... hit the web today. Check it out if you care.... Since I'm from New Jersey and not like them, I am obligated not to care about the show. I'm trying hard.

Kardashian Daily

Keeping you on the Kutting edge of the Kardashian news today. Kim and Kourtney Take New York was at the top of the Sunday cable ratings this week even after their premiere last week.  The dip was small from last week and they're going strong. The episode was actually pretty entertaining with Kim and Kris fighting a bit, Kourtney screwing with Scott's parents' home in the Hamptons, and Khloé Kontinuing to be awesome.

In other Dash news, Kris, Kim, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall, and Khloé made a deal with OPI, a nail polish company I know nothing about and the deal says they all split the money equally. People are saying it's a big move of Kim since she's the most famous, but I think it's a bad ass move by Kris Kuz she get's a percentage of all the others as a manager. Stay savy Kris.

Today's Jam of the Day is the first cut off of Kelly Clarkson's new iTunes Sessions EP which will be released on 12/27.  I am a huge Kelly Clarkson fan... as will become apparent on the blog, and I'm super pumped for the Stronger Era with a tour coming next year and lots of awesome music and promo.  They got this cut out just in time to get me in the Christmas Spirit and I've been listening since it was released on iTunes last night!  Enjoy and check it out on iTunes!

Giuliana Rancic Getting Double Mastectomy

"It was not an easy decision but it was the best decision for me." That's what Giuliana Rancic said this morning on the Today Show, when she and her husband Bill Rancic talked to Ann Curry about the decision for Giuliana to have a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction to eliminate the breast cancer discovered in October.

Angelina on Her Family

Tabloid fav and shutterbug queen, Angelina Jolie opens up to Christiane Amanpour with ABC news this week about her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, home schooling her kids, the way she views the world, and her life with Brad and the kids. It's Official: Madonna's Doing Halftime

While the teams aren't even close to confirmed, it is confirmed that Madonna will be rocking the Super Bowl halftime show at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 5th.  That's right, Madonna will be performing what is sure to be a new song along with a medley of hits surrounded by a slew of candidates for her next younger boyfriend. She'll prep with an all natural diet, lots of working out, baths in the youth serum she no doubt uses to stay looking as good as she does.... I kid, I kid. I'm sure it'll be great with 3 months of prep time and the biggest national audience!  Hopefully she doesn't forget the lyrics... or fall... Right, Xtina? Lauren Alaina? Every other pop singer with memory failings?

Beware the Twihards

This chick better watch it.  Twihards are not forgiving of swindling their ivory princess even if it's not true.  Rob Pattinson was spotted leaving La Poubelle bar in LA with actress Sarah Roemer... in a move that may be innocent or it may not.  Sources are calling it cheating or at least suspicious, but I fail to believe it. Fans on the other hand are mad on behalf of Kristin Stewart, my favorite lip biting eye roller... Think what you will and let the rumor mill roll...

They'll Be Driving Any Day Now

They might be married by 3 or 4, right? Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's babies Moroccan and Monroe have apparently started to play the drums, keep rhythm, sing, talk, try to walk... do math, study biology, perform brain transplants, and put on sunglasses to shade their eyes from the diva glare Mariah throws off.  These kids are prodigies at life, but when will they get twitter?

Sunday Roundup

Finally Khloe made the news... but not in the best way possible.  The best Kardashian found her name in the headlines this morning after Chantal Spears, a transgendered woman formerly known as Ronald Spears, filed suit against Khloe for an alleged assault outside club Playhouse 2 years ago.  She says she's still feeling the repercussions. You could say this is because Khloe packs a punch when you insult her man... or you could look at it like me and call a big fat BS.

Otherwise, it's been a slow news weekend.

Breaking News

Brooke Mueller was arrested for suspicious of felony cocaine possession in Aspen.  She wants booked and got out on $11,000 bond and released.  It would be really easy to make jokes at Brooke's expense, like "Rehab works, doesn't it?" or "At least it wasn't crack" or "Takes a while for Charlie Sheen to get out of your system" but I'm not that kind of blogger... usually.  Get help, Brooke. Get better.

Ours Music Video

Shut up, Taylor Swift made a heart with her hands. She played with a kitten. She has a boyfriend with a heart of gold. Welcome to Taylor's fairytale life! ... Well, no, she's still single, but she could date an army reject if she wanted to, right?

Taylor Swift made a music video for the song she probably wrote about John Mayer... and it's a literal translation of the song. Typical Taylor fare: bad life turns good, true love implied through clips of the pair outside... and with kittens, high fives galore, a tablet product placement, and a tiny twist. If you put that faded look on the video with a heart made of hands, the fans will always be sold.  This one will be a hit with the tweens I'm sure.  Oh, and did I mention that it's a military man story. Put this one in a Nicholas Sparks book, make it star Zach Efron and you have a hit.

Britney Birthday Spotting

How does a pop princess spend her birthday? Britney Spears was spotted ice skating at the Galleria Mall in Houston today.  While every news source from Rolling Stone and MTV to Local and Network news have been congratulating Brit on an amazing career and 30 great years, Britney has been tweeting her fans. She's loving the love she's getting and we'll send it for another 30 years!

UPDATE: Britney also thanked celebs for their birthday wishes... My fav is the response to Kesha.

Why Are We Talking About This?

 My ears are still bleeding and my eyes are still locked shut after watching the video, but Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey cause a scandal with the new version of All I Want For Christmas is you… not because it's awful but because of the age gap and sexual implications. Nick Cannon felt the need to defend the video and his wife today, and I continued not to care.  This isn't a scandal... unless saying it is will get the video removed. SCANDAL!

Pauly D got a record deal with 50 Cent… Another way to get paid to party?

Tori Spelling wants baby #4. After having her last baby like 2 minutes ago, and getting her nipples all over the internet, Tori must have seen her name in the spotlight and wanted to keep it there I guess.  Transparent but I guess it works.

Also, Neil Patrick Harris apparently has to apologize for saying "tranny" on Live with Kelly... I just think people say a lot worse things daily and this shouldn't be a big deal, but if people are offended enough and he's big to apologize, I guess I'm still wondering why we're all talking about it.

Daily Kardashian

When I conceived of this blog, I never thought I'd have to write about this family daily, but here it is: Day Two of the Kardashian Roundup.

Mason Dissick was jealous of Kim's divorce, so he decided he's allergic to peanuts.

For someone who wants an amicable divorce, she sure has a lot to say... Kim K says she wanted an annulment first. Maybe she just heard another family member's name in the news and struck back. Oh yeah and she's on the Australian Immigration watch list.

Khloe also went shopping with a full family and security escort.

EDIT: Also Khloe went to gym and the world is shocked she didn't wear makeup... Cuz we all go to the gym like we're going clubbing. Leave her alone

Imma Let You Snub Him

Kanye West says the grammy snub is his own-- Imma let you finish, but Britney had the biggest Grammy snub of the whole year.

When the Grammy Noms were announced this year, everyone was super excited for Adele, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj who all scored a few nods.  There were also some glaring absences. 

Muhammed Ali Hospitalized

Star and Radar report that Muhammed Ali was rushed to the hospital earlier today. He was apparently unconscious but we don't know what ails him. They say that it was confirmed by police and parametics that a call was made from his wife's Arizona estate and that an elderly man was brought to the hospital.  He is a great man, a legend, even and I hope the story is false or if it's true that he pulls through.

New Britney: Love 2 Love U

In celebration of Britney Spears's 30th Birthday, Britney's #1 Fansite, Breatheheavy posted a new-old Britney song called Love 2 Love U. It's an amazing gift to kick off an amazing day!  The song is fast paced, well produced, and all around awesome. Britney asks at the end of the song, "Do you love me?" And I hope she already knows the answer!

It's only just over an hour into the day on the east coast and there are already 2 trending topics about B, #HappyBirthdayBritney and Love 2 Love U. Talk about the most powerful fan base and the power of love!

Kris-formerly-Kim's-bitch-Humphries is citing irreconcilable differences --shocker-- for an annulment.

Kim's BFFFF, Spin Crowd star Jonathan Cheban, is planning on suing Kris for calling him gay... He should hire more help if he's suing everyone who's ever said it.


Why should we watch Fraud and Preggo take New York, before they've even earned their nick names?

I love the Kardashian family.  They are media manipulators and they must have a great team around them.  They manage to stay in the public eye, sell their products, sell themselves, and force us to care... all with a smile and huge asses. Rob can dance and that makes him the first family member I admire, but the rest just dress up in pink and sashay.  God love them, at least they're not the cast of Jersey Shore.
